Dr. Manav Wadhawan is an eminent gastroenterologist who pioneered the development of HBIG-free protocols in HBV-related liver transplantation and devised several techniques to manage complex biliary strictures in this setting. His core expertise lies in hepatology, including transplant hepatology, as well as complex and difficult ERCP procedures.

Dr. Wadhawan has previously been associated with some of the country’s most prestigious medical institutions, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Fortis Escorts Hospital, New Delhi, and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), Delhi, among others. He also played a key role in establishing the highly successful liver transplantation program at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. Currently, he serves as the Director of the Department of Gastroenterology at the Institute of Digestive and Liver Diseases, BLK-Max.

With more than 50 publications in indexed journals, including 5 book chapters, Dr. Wadhawan has an impressive record in research and academic publishing. He has authored several high-impact publications on post-transplant ERCP.

Dr. Manav Wadhawan has received numerous awards, including the Young Investigator Award from the International Liver Transplantation Society (ILTS) in 2013; Best Oral Presentation Awards at the Plenary Sessions of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) in 2011 and 2004; and the Best Oral Presentation Award at the Plenary Session of the International Association for the Study of the Liver (IASL) in 2004. He has been invited to deliver over 200 lectures at various national and international scientific meetings. He is currently a member of the Governing Council of INASL (Indian National Association for the Study of the Liver) and serves on multiple task forces involved in developing liver disease management guidelines in India.
